Dear Minister,

On behalf of the operators and users at Jandakot Airport, we applaud your decision on the future of Jandakot Airport.

We thank you for re-affirming that the government is committed to the Jandakot airport site, that the long-term lease should remain, that the government is not inclined to support relocation and that the airport leaseholder, JAH, should implement the approved Master Plan and operate in line with the /Airports Act 1996/ and the lease. This wise decision is in the best interests of the people of Western Australia, the aviation community and regional WA who rely on this airport to service their general aviation requirements.

The uncertainty surrounding Jandakot has now been removed and we will all work to further develop this important piece of our nation's aviation infrastructure.

Again Minister, we would like to congratulate you on reaffirming the primacy of the Airports Act 1996. The intent and spirit of this legislation was that the privatised airports would be run as airports for the benefit of the wider community, not for the benefit of property developers.
